Update!

When Isabelle went in for her 3 month wellness check my pediatrician noticed that she had an "extra" leg crease that didn't have a match on the the other leg...this was something that we would have to watch as she got older. This brings concern because it could mean that her hips are out of place or not "set" really well. But every time we would rotate they would stay in place and were VERY stable. Around 6 months of age Phil and I noticed that her feet were a little crazy...when she sat(and it is still a little noticeable now) both feet would lay down in the same direction. Because of that we went to see a pediatric orthopedic doctor.
Come to find out that indeed her left hip socket was quite a bit more shallow that her right, but not enough to do anything readily about(which we were very thankful for). Most common fixes are braces worn for 12 hours while they are sleeping to help correct the problem, but she is a pretty light sleeper so this would have caused A LOT of problems. Any way the doctor sent us home with a check up appointment just before her first birthday.
Now it is just days before her first birthday and we had our appointment yesterday and all is okay...there is still some room for concern because it is still a little shallow, but has progressed enough on its own no to take any corrective actions(YAY). The doctor said that if we notice anything that raises a red flag, like when she starts walking on her own or running we can come back, but if we don't notice that in the next year or so she should be perfectly fine. We are very thankful to have two healthy children...

A day at the Zoo (5-15)

What a PERFECT day for the zoo!! We got a late start(typical) but still had plenty of time to enjoy all that the Zoo had to offer. We had told Lawrence on Friday night that we were going to see the animals...he was VERY excited! We have been to the zoo a few times with him but this time you can tell he had WAY more fun. Every one was in a fantastic mood with minimal break downs! YAY!! You could also tell Isabelle really enjoyed herself!! She would reach out for the animals she would see, especially the monkey's
Bald Eagles
Isabelle checking them out
Lawrence checking out the monkey's...they were pretty lazy when we first got there but seemed to liven up before we left, so we watched them a while longer just before going home.
Lawrence checking out what he called "big guy"
My big helper, helping mommy by pushing the wagon...that way we also knew where he was.
Lawrence checking out the "fishies"
Isabelle LOVING the lions
Isabelle is still very much into them!
Lawrence playing the drums...we did this for a while.

Isabelle clapping...maybe for the flamingos??

Both kiddos checking the flamingos out...
One of Lawrence's favorite things!! the wooden "choo choo" he had SO much fun running around and playing on the the train, making train noises and saying "All Aboard"

He LOVES the caboose!!

LOVE Isabelle's face here!

Checking out the "deer" I had to explain several times that it was indeed a goat :)
Playing in the water fall

Checking out the monkeys just before going home

I put Lawrence to bed this night(usually daddy does) he makes you "sleep" in his bed while he uses you as a road to drive his car on...anyway while he was doing this he was telling someone(not sure if he was telling me, his car or just himself) all about his day at the zoo. All about the animals, monkeys and of course the choo choo!! What a great day we had!! LOVE family time!

♥Mothers Day♥

Well of course as I explained earlier my mothers day gift was my camera!! So what more fitting thing to do on a beautiful Sunday afternoon? Have a little photo fun in Grandpa and Grandma Steenwyk's greenhouses, of course!! When Lawrence was a little guy we(Kate and I) took pictures of Lawrence in the greenhouse so we continued on the the photo shoots....here are a few of what we took Sunday. Most are of Isabelle because this was her first time! However there are some of my little guy too!
First things first...Lawrence went for a Golf Cart ride with Grandpa I believe and returned with this for me!! SO sweet!! I love his face it just shows how excited he was to give it to me!

We did take more pictures...but those will be later because they are for her birthday invites and what not :-)
